Group programmes and talks
12-week ‘Balance your blood sugar’ course
Do you have type 2 diabetes or are you ‘pre-diabetic’? Would you like to learn how to manage your blood sugar levels through diet and lifestyle?
This weekly group meeting combines a walking programme developed and delivered by a qualified Nordic Walking instructor, with practical nutrition education, SMART goal setting, recipes, food plans and ongoing support via a closed Facebook group.
Over 12 weekly, 90-minute sessions, participants will learn how to implement diet and lifestyle changes to help them lose weight, improve their fitness and move their blood sugar levels into a healthy range. The meeting will include a 45 minute group walk.
Participants should be under GP supervision if diabetic. We highly recommend testing your HbA1C via your GP prior to the start of this course and again at the end.
Jo is available for a range of health talks for your community group or workplace. Talks can be tailored to your requirements and can last for 30 to 90 minutes or can be longer, interactive workshops. Example topics include:
